Description: Missing Pieces is a painting that has deliberate, bold strokes. Colours dash over the canvas sporadically, reflecting powerful emotions of anger, loss and pain. This work represents the loss felt by victims of the Australian bush-fires. Loss of life, animals, fauna, flora, livelihood - a terrible Australian tragedy. The two empty frames give a feeling of emptiness and regret.The devastation of bushfires and the people they hurt, is felt for a long time after the blaze settles. This work has missing photos of people passed on, those who never made it out. An evocative work that demands a response from the viewer.
