Bold, bright and atmospheric paintings - bringing character to any room. This is what I love to do. I am passionate about painting.
I started out using chalks. I loved the texture and ability to blend colours. My first pictures were of wildlife and birds inspired by my many visits to Kruger Park in South Africa. I found that oil paints were slow and laborious to use and water colours didn't give me the intensity of colour I was looking for. I attempted working with charcoal but soon succumbed to the pull of acrylic paint, even when doing live drawing sessions! The shade varieties, mixable colours and quick drying acrylics 'spoke' to me and become my favourite medium. I haven't looked back!
I gather much of my inspiration from personal experiences in the environment and visits to destinations around the world.
